SUMMARY:28th Annual Rose Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Seth Dillon\, owner and CEO of The Babylon Bee \nSeth Dillon\, owner and CEO of the Babylon Bee\, will keynote the 28th Annual Rose Dinner.  Attendees will have the opportunity to support a passionately pro-life cause\, and enjoy an evening of laughter.                                                                                                                                               \nFor those unfamiliar with Dillon and the Babylon Bee\, Seth has a passion for the Truth\, and has earned national renown with his clean\, witty humor. \nHere’s a sample from the Bee’s website (babylonbee.com): \nChristians\, you might have noticed\, have their own unique way of talking that can seem like a completely different language. To help you translate\, the Babylon Bee has compiled this handy updated guide to Christian phrases: \n“Let’s take some time to posture our hearts before we start worship”: The media guy can’t find the lyrics slide. \n“Please consider if the Lord might be leading you to volunteer in the nursery”: There’s literally no one watching your children ri \n \nght now; it’s Lord of the Flies back there. \n“Quiet time”: Nap time. \n“Lord\, I just want to echo Bob’s prayer”: I forgot it was my turn to pray. \n“We don’t have small groups here\, we have Gospel-centered missional families”: We have small groups and a thesaurus. \n“I’m working to keep pursuing my wife’s heart”: I’m rinsing the dishes. \n  \n  \n\n\nPLEASE DONATE\nPlease consider donating to our General Fund C4 because of under-funding. See below for description of C3 – Ed Trust vs C4  General Fund. \n \n \n\n\nYou can choose where your donation money will go. \nWVFL has a C3 (Ed Trust) branch\, and C4 (General Fund) branch. Both are non-profit. \nDonations to the C3 (Ed Trust) are tax-deductible\, as charitable contributions. But the only thing we can do with that money is educate. \nDonations to the C4 (General Fund) are not tax-deductible. For this reason\, the C4 is chronically under-funded. But we can do a lot more with the money. In addition to education\, we can work to change or create laws. We can host a Capitol Rally and a State Convention. \nWhy is this so important? \nThe abortion pill crisis will not be solved by education alone. We need pro-life laws\, and we need to elect representatives who will pass those laws. For example\, in 2026\, WVFL is supporting legislation that will add two key components to the continuing education requirement for medical personnel: 1) The life-threatening dangers that abortion pills pose to women; and\, 2) Abortion pill reversal is safe and effective. This would help ensure that women who end up in the ER are properly diagnosed and treated\, and that women who change their mind are given the life-saving help they request. But\, legally\, WVFL must have C4 money to do this work. \nIn 2024\, 90% of Americans took the Standard Deduction on their taxes. If you are in this group\, that means it does not make a penny of difference on your taxes whether you give to the C3 or the C4. Therefore\, if you are in this group\, would you please consider checking the C4 box on the Commitment Card directing your Rose Dinner money to the C4?  If you are in the small minority of people who itemize your deductions\, we certainly understand if you would prefer to give to the C3. \nPlease know that WVFL is very grateful for every donation we receive – large or small\, no matter where it is designated! And\, we do our best to use every penny responsibly\, so that we can save as many lives as possible. Thank you so much for your generous support! \n\n\nWould you please consider helping to reach West Virginia women with the truth about abortion pills? You can do this by becoming a Rose Dinner Sponsor.  \nThanks to the incredible generosity of donors in 2025\, West Virginians for Life was able to launch “Don’t Swallow the Lie!” This life-saving campaign is designed to teach the truth about the dangers of abortion pills (a.k.a. chemical abortion). Most mothers and babies are protected from all methods of abortion in West Virginia. But West Virginia women are being lured into obtaining pills from out-of-state – which adds more risk to an already-dangerous drug. \nDon’t Swallow the Lie billboards direct viewers to an excellent website: DontSwallowTheLie.com. The site features immediate help for those interested in abortion pill reversal. It quickly and simply teaches the truth about the dangers of taking the pill.  \n

SUMMARY:23rd Annual Rose Dinner
DESCRIPTION:This is your invitation to attend the twenty-third annual West Virginians for Life Rose Dinner to be held on the evening of Thursday\, November 11\, 2021 (6:00 p.m. reception\, 7:00 p.m. dinner)\, at Holiday Inn/The Winchester\, 1188 Pineview Drive in Morgantown. \nKeynote Speaker Melissa Ortiz \nWhether she’s sharing a memory\, a laugh\, or a perspective on the conflict in the Middle East\, anyone who encounters Melisa Ortiz is quick to learn that she is truly one of a kind. Before being old enough to enter the first grade\, Melissa had been both a poster child for a major charity and involved in a political campaign. While living with the challenge of a physical disability might give Ortiz license to feel like a victim\, have a sense of entitlement\, or minimally\, be a bit grumpy\, she is none of those things. She identifies as a “happy patriot” and is passionate about driving dialogue between conservatives and people living with disabilities. She is uniquely suited to bridge the gap between these two groups and is passionate about bringing them together to create solutions. \nA native southerner who has spent periods of her life in Atlanta\, Nashville\, Jerusalem\, and New York City\, Ortiz has finally settled with husband Tony in the nation’s capital. Her passion for politics and penchant for communication has taken her from the Tennessee State Senate Clerk’s office to the battle against ratification of the UN Treaty on Disabilities (CRPD). From the very beginning\, Ortiz’s family instilled in her the importance of public service. “I grew up in a family who believed in helping other people\,” Ortiz remembers. “We just saw people who were in need and we could reach out to do whatever we could.” Ortiz has been involved in countless political campaigns. She worked on the team supporting Sen. Ted Cruz’s Presidential bid and has worked to pass a Constitutional Amendment protecting the rights of all parents. She recently also finished a stint as a political appointee in the Trump Administration where she worked to promote the concept that people with disabilities need employment opportunities and a community framework that will allow them to live independently. Following her experience in the Administration\, Melissa served as a visiting fellow for the Independent Women’s Forum\, she addressed these issues and more through blog posts\, opinion pieces and media appearances. \nA Silent Auction will be a highlight of the night\, too. Don’t miss it! Additionally\, we need to celebrate passage of the Second Chances at Life Act (Abortion Pill Reversal). \nThe Rose Dinner benefits the WVFL Educational Trust Fund\, therefore donations to it are tax deductible less the actual cost of your meal(s). The Educational Trust allows WVFL to buy literature\, fetal models\, pro-life DVDs\, billboards and radio/TV air time (extremely costly) among other educational activities. \nThere are table sponsorships at various levels. Individual tickets are $50 each. Click here for Rose Dinner Flyer with registration information or register and pay online. \nPlease R.S.V.P. by November 4\, 2021. We look forward to seeing you on the 11th of November! \n \nCall WVFL staff at 304-594-9845 for more information.

SUMMARY:Annual State Convention 2021

Doors open at 9 a.m. The theme is “All LIFE Matters.” For $35\, a buffet lunch is included. College students and teens pay only $15. Groups of 10 or more pay only $25 per person (adults) or $10 per person (college students/teens). A keynote speaker will be featured as will National Right to Life Political Director Karen Cross and WVFL President Dr. Wanda Franz. \nKeynote speaker Kurt Kondrich calls himself a “Dadvocate” and advocates for not only his daughter Chloe but for all people with Down syndrome. Together\, the father-daughter team proclaim the worth of all individuals with disabilities. \nChloe and Kurt Kondrich testifying before the United Nations \nKurt married his wife Margie in 1996\, and they are the parents of their amazing son Nolan and beautiful daughter Chloe. Chloe was born in 2003 with a diagnosis of Down syndrome\, and her birth placed the Kondrich family on an incredible journey. Kurt served as a Police Officer for 20 years and received many awards for service to the community. Shortly after Chloe’s birth Kurt learned that up to 90% of children diagnosed prenatally with Down syndrome were targeted and eliminated – 100% in Iceland. Kurt left his career as a Pittsburgh Police Officer and focused on being a strong advocate for our most vulnerable children. Margie and Nolan taught Chloe to read at age 3\, and Chloe has had an amazing life in her community at age 17. \nThe Kondrich Family has received several awards for advocacy efforts including the PA Pro-Life Federation Leadership Award\, The St Anthony Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh\, Good Counsel Homes Advocacy Award in NYC\, The Array of Hope St John Paul Threshold of Hope Award\, the “Chloe Award” in New Jersey\, and the California Right to Life League Education Award. Kurt and Chloe spoke at the United Nations in 2017 and 2018 about the priceless gift of life and the silent genocide against children diagnosed prenatally with Down syndrome. The Kondrich family also met with the President and Vice President at the White House for the 2018 March for Life. \nKurt and Chloe’s advocacy efforts led to the PA Legislature overwhelmingly passing the Down syndrome Prenatal Education Act (“Chloe’s Law”) in July 2014\, and Chloe had the pleasure of signing the law on the Governor’s desk. They were the Keynote Speakers at the Prayer Breakfast at the 2019 National Right to Life Convention in Charleston\, SC. \nThe teens will find inspiration by attending the Teen Day Camp\, which runs parallel to the adult convention. Catering to teens\, the day camp will provide time for games in addition to learning. \nAs details become available\, they will be added\, so check here often as the date approaches. \nIn the meantime\, West Virginians for Life pays for convention expenses through advertising in the annual Convention Resource Manual that is given to all who attend and advertisers around the state as well as being shared at fairs\, chapter events\, etc. Please consider purchasing an ad in the manual. As they become available\, you will find here a Brochure\, Ad Contract and Sponsor Form. Deadline for ads and sponsorships is September 3\, 2021. \nA registration brochure is available here. You may still register after the original October 1 deadline as long as we know you are committed to attending. The price increases to $40 if someone unexpected shows. \nHere are the Ad Contract\, and Sponsor Form. \nClick here to find a convention flyer and Teen Day Camp flyer. \nChecks should be made payable to: West Virginians for Life \nMailed to: 25 Canyon Road\, Morgantown\, WV 26508 \nONLINE PAYMENTS: \nRegistration Payment \nResource Manual Ad Payment

SUMMARY:47th Annual March for Life - Call to be put on waitlist!
DESCRIPTION:THE 47th ANNUAL MARCH FOR LIFE in Washington\, D.C. commemorates the 1973 Supreme Court legalization of abortion\, which has resulted in the deaths of over 61 million innocent\, unborn children. Please join the March in rededication to stopping this culture of death. \nA bus\, sponsored by the Monongalia Chapter of West Virginians for Life\, will leave on Friday\, January 24\, 2020 from the JC Penney parking lot at the Morgantown Mall at 4:00 a.m. It will return there on the same day at around 11:00 p.m. A Congressional meeting is planned for 10:00 a.m. in Rayburn HOB room 2168. Other West Virginians\, who don’t ride this bus\, are welcome to join us at the meeting. \nBe sure to wear warm layers of clothing. If you’re cold\, it’s not fun. You can always remove layers\, if you’re too hot. The most comfortable\, warm walking shoes/boots are suggested. Also stuff your pockets with snack items – granola\, crackers\, fruit\, water as we will not be eating lunch in the District. Snacks are advisable on the bus and can be left there. We will NOT be stopping to eat dinner. We will have a restroom break at a convenience store instead. We have found that stopping at a restaurant for dinner\, burns up precious travel time\, in particular\, for those who come from the far reaches of the state. \nWVFL is working on getting pepperoni rolls donated. Water and Dramamine will be available on the bus. WVFL will provide signs. We ask that those be returned at the end of the day\, unless you will use them at local chapter events. \nThe cost is $15 a person or $30 for a family of 3 or more. BUS NOW FULL – Call 304-594-9845 if interested in Waitlist! Payment is what secures your seat(s). Make checks payable to and mail to WVFL-Mon County Chapter\, P.O. Box 1479\, Morgantown\, WV 26507-1479. \nSeats are starting to fill up. You don’t want to call at the last minute and expect to get a seat. Do it today! \nClick here for copy of flyer

SUMMARY:Unplanned Movie March 29
DESCRIPTION:Unplanned is the inspiring true story of one woman’s journey of transformation. \nAll Abby Johnson ever wanted to do was help women. As one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the nation\, she was involved in upwards of 22\,000 abortions and counseled countless women about their reproductive choices.
