DESCRIPTION:Seth Dillon\, owner and CEO of The Babylon Bee \nSeth Dillon\, owner and CEO of the Babylon Bee\, will keynote the 28th Annual Rose Dinner.  Attendees will have the opportunity to support a passionately pro-life cause\, and enjoy an evening of laughter.                                                                                                                                               \nFor those unfamiliar with Dillon and the Babylon Bee\, Seth has a passion for the Truth\, and has earned national renown with his clean\, witty humor. \nHere’s a sample from the Bee’s website (babylonbee.com): \nChristians\, you might have noticed\, have their own unique way of talking that can seem like a completely different language. To help you translate\, the Babylon Bee has compiled this handy updated guide to Christian phrases: \n“Let’s take some time to posture our hearts before we start worship”: The media guy can’t find the lyrics slide. \n“Please consider if the Lord might be leading you to volunteer in the nursery”: There’s literally no one watching your children ri \n \nght now; it’s Lord of the Flies back there. \n“Quiet time”: Nap time. \n“Lord\, I just want to echo Bob’s prayer”: I forgot it was my turn to pray. \n“We don’t have small groups here\, we have Gospel-centered missional families”: We have small groups and a thesaurus. \n“I’m working to keep pursuing my wife’s heart”: I’m rinsing the dishes. \n  \n  \n\n\nPLEASE DONATE\nPlease consider donating to our General Fund C4 because of under-funding. See below for description of C3 – Ed Trust vs C4  General Fund. \n \n \n\n\nYou can choose where your donation money will go. \nWVFL has a C3 (Ed Trust) branch\, and C4 (General Fund) branch. Both are non-profit. \nDonations to the C3 (Ed Trust) are tax-deductible\, as charitable contributions. But the only thing we can do with that money is educate. \nDonations to the C4 (General Fund) are not tax-deductible. For this reason\, the C4 is chronically under-funded. But we can do a lot more with the money. In addition to education\, we can work to change or create laws. We can host a Capitol Rally and a State Convention. \nWhy is this so important? \nThe abortion pill crisis will not be solved by education alone. We need pro-life laws\, and we need to elect representatives who will pass those laws. For example\, in 2026\, WVFL is supporting legislation that will add two key components to the continuing education requirement for medical personnel: 1) The life-threatening dangers that abortion pills pose to women; and\, 2) Abortion pill reversal is safe and effective. This would help ensure that women who end up in the ER are properly diagnosed and treated\, and that women who change their mind are given the life-saving help they request. But\, legally\, WVFL must have C4 money to do this work. \nIn 2024\, 90% of Americans took the Standard Deduction on their taxes. If you are in this group\, that means it does not make a penny of difference on your taxes whether you give to the C3 or the C4. Therefore\, if you are in this group\, would you please consider checking the C4 box on the Commitment Card directing your Rose Dinner money to the C4?  If you are in the small minority of people who itemize your deductions\, we certainly understand if you would prefer to give to the C3. \nPlease know that WVFL is very grateful for every donation we receive – large or small\, no matter where it is designated!
