Dear Friends for Life,

Every November, West Virginians for Life sponsors the annual Rose Dinner to raise money for our educational efforts.  In the past, we have had many special speakers, including writer and TV personality, Cal Thomas; writer and speaker, Wesley Smith; and former abortionist and author, Abby Johnson.

This year, we are honored to welcome home the Morgantown native, Professor Robert George, Ph.D.  He is a Princeton University Professor of Jurisprudence and the Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions, which he founded at Princeton.  He was a Judicial Fellow at the Supreme Court of the United States, where he received the Justice Tom C. Clark Award, and he served on the President’s Council on Bioethics and as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights.

Dr. George has had an exceptional academic career.  He is a graduate of Swarthmore College, attended Harvard University and received his doctorate in legal philosophy from Oxford University.  He holds honorary doctorates of law, letters, science, ethics, civil law, humane letters and juridical science.  David Kirkpatrick of the New York Times called him “this country’s most influential conservative Christian thinker.”  In addition, Robert George is the grandson of West Virginia miners and he has his roots in the West Virginia hills.  He plays the guitar and five-string banjo, and he excels at playing bluegrass music.

I urge you to bring your friends and come to hear this exceptional West Virginia native.  He will speak on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa.  The reception is at 6:00 p.m. and dinner begins at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $50 each or $1,000 for sponsoring a table of eight with other levels of sponsorship available.  Proceeds benefit the Educational Trust so donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for your continuing support for life here in West Virginia.
