Who we are

The goal of West Virginians for Life is to promote the protection of human life, from conception until natural death. To accomplish this goal, WVFL works to educate through the presentation of detailed and factual information about fetal development, abortion, alternatives to abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and related issues, upon which individuals and the general public may make informed decisions. Our primary website addresses are: https://www.wvforlife.org and https://edu.wvforlife.org and https://pac.wvforlife.org. Please read more about us by clicking here.

Analytics

While we may utilize tools, potentially including third party tools, to collect information so as to analyze our visitor traffic, that collected data does not ever contain personally identifiable information about our visitors.

Who we share your data with

We do not share or sell mobile phone information unless required by law or needed by vendors to perform services (i.e. fulfillment). We utilize the collected data within our own organization expressly in fulfillment of the stated purposes of the organization, and we may routinely share contact information with third parties for controlled use for educational purposes and/or for fundraising purposes. You may elect to have your information removed and/or flagged so as not to be contacted for educational and/or fundraising purposes. To express your wishes about such uses or for any other reasons, please email us at: info@wvforlife.org

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

Any personally identifiable information you share with us via our site or by any other means may be maintained in our records, and can be deleted upon your request, accompanied by a link to where your personally identifiable information is being displayed (if you are aware of its public display on our site). Our administrator can be reached by email at: info@wvforlife.org

Additional information

How we protect your data

We have installed a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate that uses industrial strength encryption to protect logins and data transfers for both the parent domain name and subdomains of our parent domain. We do not ever store any credit/debit card account information nor any bank account information on our site / web servers.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the event of a data breach, we would notify the persons thought to be affected, and work with them to mitigate the problem. The most likely private data to be affected by a breach would be website account usernames and passwords, in which case changing the password would be the first step to take, and in fact a weak password would likely have been how any breach was incurred in the first place. We strongly recommend site users / volunteers use strong, complex passwords containing a mixture of upper and lower case letters, as well as numbers and special characters, avoiding easy to guess phrases and eschewing the use of whole words found in a common dictionary.

What third parties we receive data from

No list information from third parties obtained during fundraising prospecting is ever stored or displayed on this web site. While we do receive data from third parties, the use of the data is carefully controlled and users’ wishes expressed to us about their data are honored in a timely fashion to the best of our ability. In the case of website traffic analysis data, no third party provides any data that would be personally identifiable to anyone.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

None.
