Abortion Opt-Out and
Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act Have Been Introduced
(Charleston – January 24, 2014) West Virginians for Life is supporting two bills during this legislative session: the ObamaCare Abortion Opt-Out (H.B. 3081, S.B. 272) and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.B. 2364, S.B. 388). Both pieces of legislation have now been introduced in both the House and the Senate. We have met with committee chairs and state leaders, but they have not been able to assure us, at this time, that they are going to allow our legislation to be placed on the agenda.
It is early in the session so there is still time for the legislators to take up our bills for consideration. NOW is the time for pro-lifers from across the state to contact their representatives. TELL THEM YOU ARE PRO-LIFE AND WANT TO SEE THESE BILLS RECEIVE FULL CONSIDERATION. THE BABIES DESERVE OUR FULL RESPECT AND ATTENTION.
On January 1, 2014, a new report from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, entitled State Policies in Brief, was released. It reported that West Virginia is one of only nine states nationally that has no restrictions on the funding of abortions, including both private and public insurance policies, as well as policies offered through the new ObamaCare Health Care Exchanges.
This is an embarrassment for the state of West Virginia, where the people are known to be pro-life. It is time that state leadership supports the pro-life policies favored by the people of the state.
You can do the following to help save lives in West Virginia:
