Shelley More Capito Votes Pro-Life in the Senate

by Wanda Franz

Senator Capito has served the people of West Virginia for many years in political life. When she first ran for office, she considered herself to be “pro-choice.” However, like so many other Americans, she had been getting her views on abortion from the pro-abortion media. Like so many other Americans, she didn’t know very much about abortion. But, she was prepared to listen to her constituents, and her pro-life constituents provided her with pro-life education.

From the beginning, she did not vote like someone who was “pro-choice.” Her voting record was mixed, but, over the years, her votes gravitated toward being pro-life. She has had a 100% pro-life voting record for the last 8 years. She has voted to defund Planned Parenthood and stop government funding of abortion. She voted for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and various bills to repeal and replace ObamaCare. She voted in support of both of President Trump’s nominees for the Supreme Court.

WVFL is pleased to work in the Senate with Shelley Moore Capito, whom we consider to be pro-life.

It’s no wonder that the New York law allows non-physicians to perform abortions. With brave critics like Hamada shredding their horrid justifications for late-term abortions, the abortion lobby needs as many co-conspirators as they can get.

But even as activists hound Hamada, women themselves are speaking up. Countless pictures of courageous mothers and tiny babies have proliferated online as women tell their stories of preterm delivery and harrowing battles with maternal conditions such as cancer. These stories are stories of empowerment. Stories of hope. Stories of compassion for the smallest and weakest among us. And that’s why they’ve been shared tens of thousands of times over the last week.

As states like Rhode Island, Vermont, and New make moves to copy New York’s nightmarish new policy, stories like these and opinions like Hamada’s should remind us all of how terribly regressive this aggressively pro-abortion agenda truly is.

West Virginia Has Three Pro-Life Members of Congress

West Virginia is fortunate to have three principled members of Congress, who have 100% pro-life voting records: David McKinley (1st District), Alex Mooney (2nd District) and Carol Miller (3rd District).

Since the Democrats gained the majority in the House of Representatives, our Republican representatives have needed to vote to stop the pro-abortion bills being introduced by the pro-abortion majority.

All three of them signed the Discharge Petition to force a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act on the floor of the House of Representatives. This is the same bill that we are introducing in the West Virginia 2020 Legislative Session. This bill will protect babies born alive as a result of a failed abortion.

WVFL salutes our federal legislators for their stand against infanticide and their respect for the dignity of all human life.
