Keynote Speaker
Riley Gaines
12 Time All-American Swimmer With 5 SEC Titles, Women’s Rights Advocate
Riley Gaines, a 12-time All-American swimmer with 5 SEC titles was a successful female swimmer at University of Kentucky with ambitions to pursue a dental degree. That post-graduate ambition and her entire life was changed when she was forced to share a locker room and then compete against biological male Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship.
This uneven challenge, not just for Riley but for every woman competing in the pool that day, was made even more traumatic when the NCAA officials insisted on giving Lia Thomas the trophy, despite tying Riley down to the hundredth of a second in the event. Riley can recall wondering why no one was standing up for her or for any women in the room.
This moment became her call to action – to defend and protect America’s daughters against the woke left and their gender-denying ideology. Men should not take opportunities for success in sports away from women. Men should not share locker rooms with women.
Riley has since become a powerful advocate for conservative causes, including the sanctity of life and the protection of the most vulnerable, especially women. As a conservative activist, she fights to ensure that the rights of the unborn are defended and that women’s opportunities and spaces are preserved from ideological overreach. She is committed to preserving fairness and equality for women in all areas of life.

PLEASE DONATE
Please consider donating to our General Fund C4 because of under-funding. See below for description of C3 – Ed Trust vs C4 General Fund.
You can choose where your donation money will go.
WVFL has a C3 (Ed Trust) branch, and C4 (General Fund) branch. Both are non-profit.
Donations to the C3 (Ed Trust) are tax-deductible, as charitable contributions. But the only thing we can do with that money is educate.
Donations to the C4 (General Fund) are not tax-deductible. For this reason, the C4 is chronically under-funded. But we can do a lot more with the money. In addition to education, we can work to change or create laws. We can host a Capitol Rally and a State Convention.
Why is this so important?
The abortion pill crisis will not be solved by education alone. We need pro-life laws, and we need to elect representatives who will pass those laws. For example, in 2026, WVFL is supporting legislation that will add two key components to the continuing education requirement for medical personnel: 1) The life-threatening dangers that abortion pills pose to women; and, 2) Abortion pill reversal is safe and effective. This would help ensure that women who end up in the ER are properly diagnosed and treated, and that women who change their mind are given the life-saving help they request. But, legally, WVFL must have C4 money to do this work.
In 2024, 90% of Americans took the Standard Deduction on their taxes. If you are in this group, that means it does not make a penny of difference on your taxes whether you give to the C3 or the C4. Therefore, if you are in this group, would you please consider checking the C4 box on the Commitment Card directing your Rose Dinner money to the C4? If you are in the small minority of people who itemize your deductions, we certainly understand if you would prefer to give to the C3.
Please know that WVFL is very grateful for every donation we receive – large or small, no matter where it is designated! And, we do our best to use every penny responsibly, so that we can save as many lives as possible. Thank you so much for your generous support!
Would you please consider helping to reach West Virginia women with the truth about abortion pills? You can do this by becoming a Rose Dinner Sponsor.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors in 2025, West Virginians for Life was able to launch “Don’t Swallow the Lie!” This life-saving campaign is designed to teach the truth about the dangers of abortion pills (a.k.a. chemical abortion). Most mothers and babies are protected from all methods of abortion in West Virginia. But West Virginia women are being lured into obtaining pills from out-of-state – which adds more risk to an already-dangerous drug.
Don’t Swallow the Lie billboards direct viewers to an excellent website: DontSwallowTheLie.com. The site features immediate help for those interested in abortion pill reversal. It quickly and simply teaches the truth about the dangers of taking the pill.
